Beyond the Volvo Ocean Race

Beyond the Volvo is the STARK designed website for Volvo Trucks employees to see and hear more about the company’s involvement in the Volvo Ocean Race. The site went live in conjunction with the race start in Alicante, Spain at the beginning of November. Over 1 000 visitors checked it out in the first week alone!

 

The site features news reports about everything from what the race has done for the Volvo Brand, to specific events from stopovers, to one-on-one interviews with key players involved, to on-site stopover reports from Volvo Trucks staff.

 

STARK updates the site regularly with new material from the latest stopovers and our staff will be following the race to the finish line.

Even though the site is an internal communications tool for Volvo Trucks staff, it is placed externally so you can have a look too.

Beyond the Volvo Ocean Race

Volvo Truck Corporation has commissioned STARK to produce an internal news site that follows the Volvo Ocean Race…and beyond. The site will feature both filmed and written news reports and a blog that chronicles race preparations, customer activities, product launches and more – all with a VTC employee focus. We have already begun production here in Gothenburg, will be on site for the first stopover in Alicante October 28th and will follow the race to the finish line.

VISTA by STARK and Volvo Car Corporation

VISTA is a biannual customer service training competition arranged by VCC, the biggest and most comprehensive of its kind. STARK has during the past year been involved in the inspiring mission to create a communication platform, as well as the material, for this training competition. We have also started to plan and organize the Winners’ Conference week 2012.
 
Today, around 13,000 competitors from 71 countries have signed up for the competition and in June 2012, the 180 winners will be invited to the exclusive Winners’ Conference in Göteborg. STARK has also produced the global web site where you can follow the competition along with the participants, the competition administrators and media. MeetApp with STARK

STARK is happy to introduce our MeetApp, a practical brand-building tool for events. MeetApp has been especially developed for one important purpose – to make your audience informed, engaged and up-to-date before, during and after your meeting. It allows participants to follow the agenda, locate seminars and people on the meeting arena, share files, films and similar documents that are used in the meeting. It also provides shortcuts to the staff and facilitates dialogue and communication.
 
Our MeetApp has been used and appreciated by several customers several times, in both smaller meetings and huge international conferences with hundreds of guests.

MeetApp is available for iOS, Android and Blackberry platforms.

StafettVasan live on the web

For the first time ever, StafettVasan was shown live on the web this year!  STARK had a team on site working in conjunction with the sponsor Ramirent, Vasaloppet and Sagastream. StafettVasan is known as the most fun of all the cross-country ski races during Vasaloppet’s weeklong festivities. The 8.5 hour live feed was available for viewing both on the race’s homepage, stafettvasan.se and on Facebook. 50,000 people clicked on the live feed, which had an average of 500-800 viewers simultaneously.
 
- Great numbers that really point to an even bigger campaign for next year’s race, says Per Strid, Head of Communications for Vasaloppet.

Kenth Sturesson, Marketing Director at Ramirent Sverige agrees:
- Unbelievable that so many followed the race, both on stafettvasan.se and on Facebook. This is proof how much social media is growing. On our campaign site we really tried to utilise all the social media channels available. We also put our films out on YouTube.
